Outdoor Playtime!!

The weather has been unseasonably cold the last 2 weeks, so we have been unable to introduce the puppies to the great outdoors. Finally yesterday and today were much milder and we had playtime outside.
The puppies had so much fun exploring the yard and following our children around. They got to climb on things, underneath things, through things. It was so much fun to watch them enjoy their new experience.
We were able to get some pictures, so enjoy!!

Puppy Playtime Pictures!

We had the puppies out for their regular playtime and we got some great pictures. Check out the available puppies page for a new video too. They are so much fun! They have us laughing as they wobble around and play with each other. They love to snuggle up on our laps in a big pile.
My son will lay on the floor and let them use him like a jungle gym. They will climb over his legs, and back. My daughter of course just loves to cuddle them.

Willa's Puppies Are Here!!

Willa's puppies have arrived. We had 6 healthy girls and 2 healthy boys. Willa did awesome delivering these puppies. She started at 5:00 yesterday evening and wrapped it up about 2:00a.m. That is not bad!! We got to get some sleep last night which is always a bonus.

I slept in the puppy room to keep Willa company and make sure her first night went smoothly. She was a very attentive mom, taking care of her little pups.

I posted some pictures below. We will get individual shots in the next few days.

Puppy Pictures With Open Eyes!!

I finally got pictures of some of the puppies with their eyes open. These little pups like to make it difficult for me! :)
They get all cozy and try to go to sleep, don't they know that I am trying to get something done??
The puppies are making my life difficult in other areas too. They don't let me get my housework done, I don't like to go out anywhere anymore...really all I like to do is sit in the puppy nursery and hold the puppies. What I enjoy the most is talking quietly to them and watching their little tails wag...it is just the sweetest thing.

Two Week Pictures

I updated the individual pictures of the puppies on our website. I had some really cute ones left over so I had to add some to our blog. These puppies are so gorgeous. They have such soft wavy coats. I'm sure you can see in the pictures just how shiny they are.

We have been enjoying ourselves so much this last week. It is so nice to hold these tiny puppies and have them cuddle into your hand or your lap. Lucy is made to feed 8 puppies only, so we have been helping her out by supplementing with bottle feeding. It is quite the bonding experience to hold a little puppy and feed it. It always seems as though their go home date is off in the distance, but it arrives before we know it.....We will cherish every moment we get with these sweet babies!

They're Here!!!

Boy oh boy! Lucy must be exhausted because I know we are! Lucy had 10 beautiful chocolate puppies yesterday. We started around 1:30 in the afternoon(our first daytime delivery!) and ended around 11:30pm. Lucy did great and delivered 5 healthy girls and 5 healthy boys. We have spent all morning holding and cuddling these precious babies.



I have a few pictures to post. Individual pics will be next, but probably not until tomorrow. We're going to give mom and puppies some time to bond.

Today's The Day...Maybe!

Well, we think that today may be the day that the puppies arrive. We are so excited! Lucy has been very restless today, panting and scratching at the papers that we have in her whelping box. Her temperature has gone down from 100.7 to 98.6, and that usually indicates puppies in the next 24 hours.

I posted some pictures of Lucy in her whelping box and of her big belly!! We will post again shortly after the puppies arrive and let everyone know how puppies and mom are doing.

Getting The Puppy Room Ready

Well, we we were all hanging out in the puppy room today getting things together for when the puppies arrive. There are many supplies needed for whelping time that I always get ready at least a week before the expected delivery date just in case! There is nothing worse then a puppy coming when you are not prepared!

I took a few pictures while we were working. The kids are giving Lucy a nice scratch and massage..I'm sure she loves that! Then there's Lucy just hanging out.

In the next few days we will be bringing the whelping box in. We'll put some comfy blankets in there so Lucy can lay in the whelping box comfortably and get used to it in advance of the puppies coming. We are all counting down the days. I think we are going to place some bets on the date and number of puppies. We'll see who comes closest!!

Lucy's Big Belly

Lucy's belly has gotten so big over the last few days. It is amazing how she can be trim and and look completely not pregnant one day and then the next day she looks huge! It is hard to believe that she only has about 2 weeks left. It has gone by so fast.

Although we are usually so busy with school and sports and all the other things that go along with this time of year that the Fall pregnancy's do tend to go by in the blink of an eye. We are so excited. We are looking forward to holding those tiny puppy bodies!!

And.......We're Back!!

Hey everyone,

We are back to blogging again after a long break! We have some great news, Lucy and Wonka went on their honeymoon last week, so hopefully we will have some gorgeous chocolate puppies ready to go home mid - late December. We are so excited! We will continue to update the blog as things move along.

The dogs had great fun on our trip to Florida. They have a great Doggie Beach there, and Lucy and Wonka really enjoyed it. They met doggie friends, splashed in the ocean and enjoyed running around in the sand.

All our puppies are in their new homes!!

Well, all our puppies have gone to their forever homes. We have heard back from most the families and the puppies are doing great! They are learning their routines, becoming house trained and enjoying their families.

We had such a blast with our puppies. While we were very busy, it is always fun and very rewarding! When our last puppy goes, we are always at a loss at what to do with ourselves!

For now we are on vacation, enjoying the sun and sand and taking a breather!!
We are already looking forward to our next litter though. If all goes well we will have one that will be ready to go home in late December.

I love Fall puppies. The weather is perfect to run around the yard playing.

We will post every now and then to keep everyone updated on the happenings here at Mountain Creek!
