The Puppies New Play Area

Today was full of new adventure for the puppies. Since they are getting more mobile and much more interested in exploring, we got the puppy play area set up. We have a potty area in the corner to encourage the puppies to begin eliminating in a certain area away from their playing and sleep area. The material we use in the potty area simulates outside and is helpful in house training when each puppy goes home. In addition to the potty area we have lots of room for the puppies to play and explore. The surface is nice and soft and allows them to have steady footing and move around easily. It also offers a nice comfy place to sleep whenever they get tired! We also have a smaller area blocked off where Willa can lay with her puppies and feed, cuddle and clean them. We have a few things the puppies can climb on and in, but will be adding more to complete a stimulating experience for them. At this age, the puppies usually have about 10 minutes of playtime before getting sleepy. Then they will take a nice nap and recuperate. Eventually one puppy wakes up and begins moving around and pretty quickly all the others wake up too and the playtime starts all over again!
There are lots of pictures of the puppies enjoying the play area. The first one is to show our families the location of the puppy play area. It is right off of our kitchen. Before the play area was set up, the puppies spent their playtime in our kitchen. They will still do this as we like to have them right in there with all the sounds and noises in a home.
Enjoy!

Video Of Willa's Puppies

Oops!! I forgot Brown Ribbon's Picture!

Sorry little guy! I don't know how I forgot you, you are just adorable!

Willa's Puppies Individual Pictures

This week has been a week of firsts with the puppies! They have all opened their eyes. It is great to see those beautiful baby blues! Open eyes means lots and lots of wiggling around! They have become so much more mobile in the last few days. It is incredible how they change so quickly. They are all trying out their legs and trying out the sitting and standing positions. It is funny to see these babies looking like real puppies more and more. They love to play and explore, but usually they can only take 5-10 minutes at a time and then the conk out! Mom is still doing a great job of taking care of them. When she takes a break, the puppies still love to sleep in a big dog pile as you can see in the first picture!

Below are the individual pictures of the puppies from this week.

What An Exciting Day!

Today was quite a day. We took Gia to our Vet to get an ultrasound of her tummy. We were so lucky and got to see puppies moving all around. It was so special! We could see their legs wiggling around and kicking all over the place. We even got to see little heartbeats. We can't wait until they make their appearance here but we still have a little bit to wait. Just wanted to share the happy news! Below is a picture of Gia just relaxing. This is one of her favorite spots as it is only about two feet away from my usual spot on the couch. She's my buddy!

This last week has been a been a good one. The puppies are doing so well. They are growing just as they should and they are all steadily gaining weight. Mom is doing a great job caring for them and making sure they eat enough. It is hard to get her to take a break because at this age all she wants to do is be with her puppies. I know that Victoria and Gia and even Q wouldn't mind taking over the role of mom for a few minutes. They are very interested in the puppies and love to watch them wiggle around the whelping box. Q and Gia have even made attempts at getting in when Willa is taking a potty break. Willa takes it all in stride. She doesn't mind their interest at all. It is very sweet to see how much they all care about the puppies. When we are having puppy socialization time, and holding them and touching their little ears and toes, Gia and Victoria make sure to get a little nuzzle or lick in on each of the puppies. Below are the new individual pictures. The puppies are all so gorgeous. They all have such great coats, and we can already see that nice blocky head that is so sought after. Thanks to Q and Willa for having such great genes!

A Cute One To Share

Just thought this one was so cute I had to share it. I think this puppy was dreaming about eating!!

Willa's Individual Puppy Pictures

Below are individual pictures of Willa's puppies. Aren't they gorgeous? We are in love with their gorgeous coats. They are as soft as cashmere and the colors are so chocolatey and beautiful.
The puppies are doing really well. They spend pretty much all their time nursing and being loved on by mom. When mom needs a break, we are all too happy to take the puppies and snuggle and cuddle them. A few moments ago, we were sitting on the couch with the puppies and each adult had two puppies to a lap and the kids had one each. Six puppies is the perfect amount!! It is great to have them all out at once and trade with each other so each of us gets to hold all the different cuties!

Willa's Puppies Have Arrived!!

Well, after keeping us waiting a little longer than we expected, Willa had 6 gorgeous puppies last night! She had 4 boys and 2 girls. They are all super healthy and being well taken care of by mom. Willa went into labor around 6:00pm, and the puppies began arriving around midnight and the last one was born at 4:30. While we greatly appreciate that Willa was quite speedy and efficient about it(I'm sure she is too), we are a little beat this morning! Willa and her puppies are currently sleeping in our kitchen and I slept(for an hour before it was time to get the kiddos up) on the couch so I could keep an eye on them. The kids were so excited to see the puppies this morning before school. They have been patiently awaiting their arrival. It made going for even just a 1/2 day today that much harder.
Please enjoy the pictures! There will be more to come!
