Oh boy....I Am In Trouble.....
Lucy's sweet milk chocolate puppies are just too cute!! I don't know if I am going to be able to let them go to their new homes when the time comes. These babies are so chunky. They get fed all the time by mom and they are taking advantage of this being a small litter. These puppies are oh so squeezable...I feel like Elmira when I hold them. I'm going to love you and hold you and squeeze you. Wait is that Elmira or the monster from Marvin the Martian on Looney toons? Am I showing my age now? Does anyone even remember Marvin the Martian? Ok...I am getting off track. I think you get my point. Who doesn't love a chubby baby whether it be human or canine? :)
I will post some pictures a little later....they are too sweet!

One Week Old Pictures!!!
Boy oh boy are these babies cute! I can't believe a whole week has gone by already! Since there are only 5 of them, they get to eat nonstop and that is exactly what they do! We have one very curly one so far, and 4 wavy ones. Each one has a silky smooth coat.
Lucy is being a fabulous mom as we've come to expect. She doesn't ever want to leave her babies. She just wants to snuggle them all the time. Every now and then she will come out for a minute but as soon as one of her puppies makes a sound she hightails it back in by them. She is so devoted!
I've added the one week pictures of the puppies
1st: Pink Ribbon(Girl)
2nd: Purple Ribbon(Girl)
3rd: Red Ribbon(used to be tan ribbon, but tan & pink ribbons were hard to tell apart)Boy
4th: Green Ribbon(Boy)
5th: Blue Ribbon(Boy)

Puppies Going Home
Sorry all, we have been sooo busy with Joey's puppies and Lucy's puppies I have not had any time to post anything new. I know I'm terrible!
We have had a few puppies go home already this week. It was as hard as I remembered it being.
These little puppies become a part of our lives. Each one has their own personality and we genuinely miss them when they go. But it is fun to see them join their new families.
Below is a picture of Pink ribbon(Daisy) and Red ribbon(Bella) right before they left.
We hope they are doing great at their new homes!!
Below those, are pictures of Blue ribbon, two of Tan ribbon and two of Blue Green ribbon. They are going home this weekend!

Volhard Test Results
Well we did the aptitude test yesterday and got great results. I have to say I always enjoy doing it because it is fun to see how each puppy acts and responds when it is on it's own and not part of a pack of siblings.
The results were mainly 3's and 4's which we had a feeling they would be. A few of the puppies scored a few more 3's then others. We will have a nice mix of outgoing, friendly, active easily trained dogs, and calm, friendly, snuggly easily trained dogs. Just what we hoped for!!
Here is a link to the Volhard aptitude test in case anyone is interested.

We are having a blast with the puppies. They are so much fun right now. Housework and chores are suffering because who wants to do that stuff when there are adorable puppies to play with and make you laugh? And laugh we do. These puppies hop, wrestle, roll on their bellies, hide under the couch, among many other goofy things.
That bittersweet time is approaching however, when we will send our puppies to their new homes. While we couldn't be happier to see them join their new family where they will be loved and cared for, we do get a twinge of sadness to see our little munchkins go.
I will try to get some more pictures up. It does get harder now because the puppies want to play and not pose for pictures but we will make every effort to show just how cute they are getting with new pictures!

Puppies Any Day Now!!!
Well Lucy is in her final days. We expect to have adorable little puppies any minute now.
We can't wait for these puppies to arrive since this is litter has a surprise. Will they be all chocolate or 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 cream??? We won't know until they get here!
Below is a picture of Lucy. She did not want to get into the whelping box. She wanted to lay on the floor next to it. I guess maybe the tile is a little cooler. It is 80 degrees here today.
We will post as soon as the little cuties get here!

What a beautiful day!
It was a gorgeous day yesterday. Not only did we enjoy it but the puppies had a great time too. We spent a good deal of time just laying in the grass letting the puppies play and crawl all over each other and us. They are just so much fun! They are silly and goofy and just make us laugh all the time.
If you walk in our house at any given moment there is usually at least one of us holding a pup. We have an unspoken rotation system going. We each take a puppy out a time and take them around the house. They'll be sitting with us while we fold laundry, held in our arms while unpacking book bags, sitting on our laps while doing homework. We always keep track of which puppy is out so we can get a different one each time and they each get equal amounts of what we call "spoiled time".
I don't know what we will do with ourselves when they all go home!!
Please enjoy the pictures below.
First one: Black ribbon and blue green ribbon snuggling, with Tan ribbon looking right at the camera and I think that is Pink ribbon's tush!!
Second one: Blue ribbon(chocolate boy snoozing) and Pink ribbon chewing a flip flop and orange ribbon taking a nap.
Third one: Black ribbon is at the very top of the picture. Pink ribbon is sleeping facing the other way, blue ribbon is facing the camera and tan ribbon is right below that.
Fourth one: Blue Green ribbon
Fifth one: Blue ribbon, and Pink ribbon is behind him.
Sixth one: Red ribbon and pink ribbon(again!)
Seventh one: Pink ribbon(ok she loves the camera!) by the flip flop, brown ribbon(curly black boy) Orange ribbon(black girl) and Tan ribbon
Eighth one: Brown ribbon and black ribbon
Ninth one: Tan ribbon
Tenth one: Green ribbon and Pink ribbon wrestling with Brown ribbon.
Eleventh one: Lots of puppies looking for some attention from our daughter!
Ok, now after labeling all the pictures, I am realizing we need some more of Purple ribbon and Green ribbon. We will get some today as it appears it is going to be another lovely day.
