Willa's Puppies Two Weeek Pictures.

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 12:59 PM

As I said in the previous post, we have been blessed with some nice weather today. So we couldn't pass up the opportunity to get pictures of both litters outside. Willa's puppies are close to having their eyes open! Some of them are already open a little bit. We can't wait, because then they will be more playful and it will be a lot of fun to have puppy playtime.

Ok, I have to brag a little....and I hope all the other puppies don't feel bad because I love them all the same and believe me they are all gorgeous and have really awesome coats...however....I am smitten with Orange Yellow female. She has some absolutely gorgeous coloring. I can't even explain it. It is a golden chocolate, with highlights on the feet, base of the underside of the tail, on her face. I will have to ask my breeder friend what she thinks, but it appears that Orange Yellow may be Phantom. I am a little sad that all the females are spoke for as I would love to try to convince Tom to keep her! :) Oh well....at least I get to enjoy a bunch of time with her and the other puppies until they go to their new home. I will try to get some pictures posted that shows her coloring better.

Lucy's Puppies First Outside Experience

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On at 12:46 PM

I added some pictures below of Lucy's puppies first time outside. It has been very rainy here the last week or so, but finally there is sun! We usually have taken some outdoor pictures by now because the natural lighting is great, but we have had to wait on the weather to cooperate. So finally we were not only able to get some pictures of the them, but they were actually able to crawl around and explore a little. They were all very interested in the grass. They had never felt this weird texture and smelled the new smell. It was very warm, so I only got a few shots.
Hope you like them!

Lucy's Puppies (almost) 3 Week Pictures....Eyes Have Opened!!

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On Friday, May 22, 2009 at 1:53 PM

Well, after saying that Willa's puppies are growing fast, I don't know what to say about Lucy's! They too are growing way too fast. They will be 3 weeks old and they are acting like it too. Their eyes have opened. They all have baby blues right now, but they will most likely change to green, hazel or gold. They are wiggling around a lot! They are pushing themselves into sitting positions are starting to push up on their feet and try to move around. This age is so much fun. It is really neat to watch them turn from tiny non hearing, non seeing puppies that just eat and sleep, into puppies that look around, hear you when you talk to them, move all over the place. We are really enjoying this time with them.

Below are (almost) 3 week and open eye pictures although a few of them would not open their eyes for the camera!!

Willa's One Week Pictures

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On at 1:34 PM

Below are Willa's one week pictures. The puppies are growing so fast, we can't believe it. Willa has been taking such good care of the puppies. She just scoops them all towards her and snuggles them. It is so cute, when they are sleeping the puppies are draped all over Willa. Across her tummy, her paws, snuggled into her neck. She is such a wonderful mom.

Lucy's Two Week Pictures

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 1:18 PM

Well, we had to do things a little differently today. While it was a good time for me to take pictures of the puppies.....they didn't necessarily feel the same way. They did not want to lay still and take pictures, they wanted to crawl around, and explore, holding their little noses out to sniff their way along. Since they can't see yet and are just beginning to hear, they guide themselves fully on scent. So I had to have two puppies out at a time so they could snuggle each other and be more likely to lay still for a moment or two. Believe me, a moment or two was all I got!! I spent about an hour-hour and a half taking about 200 pictures and the ones on the blog are really the only good ones!!

So bear with me while I explain which puppy is which...

4th Picture: Tan male(bottom puppy)

Candid Puppy Pictures

Well the puppies are certainly growing! This is because of their wonderful mom Lucy. She takes such great care of them and loves nurturing and taking care of them. They make the cutest sounds when nursing, being held, or while trying to get in a good position for sleep. I will have to take a video and post it.
I love holding them while they snuggle into your hand or lap and make the most content purring(yes I know they are not cats but this is the est way to describe it) sounds as they drift off to sleep.
Below there are some pictures of the puppies as they are napping. They are happiest when the are piled on top of each other. If one is even any inch away from the other puppies it will fuss and cry until it is laying under or on top of the others. Absolutely adorable!

Individual Pictures.

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 10:07 AM

Below are individual puppy pictures.
1st Puppy: Blue Red Male
2nd Puppy: Orange Female
3rd Puppy: Blue Male
4th Puppy: Tan Male
5th Puppy: Blue Tan Male
6th Puppy: Red Female
7th Puppy: Blue Orange Female

The puppies are doing great! They are spending most of their time with mom, being nursed and cleaned and loved. They are getting weighed twice a day to make sure that they are all thriving, which they are. They are all close in weight except Tan boy, he is still a little larger then the rest. Of course that is to be expected since he was much bigger at birth. Lucy is such a doting mom. She just loves being with them and taking care of them. It is hard to get her to leave them for a little while so she can have a little break and go potty! We are having a great time, holding and cuddling the puppies. While we love to see them grow and see their personalities develop, there is nothing like holding a two day old puppy in your arms!

Enjoy the pictures!

The Puppies Have Arrived!!

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 3:58 PM

Well, they are here! There are 7 beautiful little puppies that arrived all night long last night! There are 4 boys and 3 girls. Lucy had her first puppy at 8:30 last night and had her last one at 6:00 this morning. She did great as always! Mom and puppies are all healthy and doing very well.

We usually deliver the puppies in the puppy nursery in a big(heavy) 4x4 whelping box. However, we have talked to many breeders that use a baby pool and love it. Whelping puppies is a very messy job and mom tends to continue to be a little messy for a little while and other breeders love how easy it is to move these light pools and wash them, keep them clean, and move them wherever they need them. When we decided that we wanted to deliver the puppies in the kitchen and then move them into the puppy nursery after a few days, we decided to try the baby pool idea. Boy do we love it! It is the perfect size. The big 4x4 whelping box doesn't allow mom to get comfy and cozy and allow her to feel like she is in her own little nest. The big whelping box also allows more room for the puppies to wiggle away from mom and get lost! The pool fits perfectly in the corner of our kitchen so Lucy and the puppies can be right near us while they are young and need to be monitored. It is very easy to keep clean, and mom and puppies can stay nice and cozy and close to each other. Who thought that something so easy could work so well?

I posted some pictures of the puppies below. They are adorable! They are smaller then we expected. Weights ranged from 8.8 oz to 11.8 oz. with one big boy at 14.8 oz. Gee, I wonder who was getting all the food in mom's belly??

We will get some individual pictures in the next day or two!

Getting Ready

Tonight's the Night!!

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On Monday, May 4, 2009 at 7:29 PM

Well, we think so anyway. I have been taking Lucy's temperature for the last couple of days and yesterday afternoon it was 99.4. Dog's normal temps are usually 101.5 or somewhere in that vicinity. So when Lucy's was lower I knew that the time was approaching!

Well an hour ago she started panting, and now she is acting a little restless, so we think they will be arriving soon! But then again, you never know. It could be a LOOOOONG night!

How many do you think?

We will be sure to post again once the puppies are born!!!

Pregancy Confirmed!!

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On Friday, May 1, 2009 at 2:00 PM

We have Linnie visiting us for a few days while her Guardian mom is out of town. We just LOVE when Linnie is here. She is the sweetest thing and just a pleasure to have around. We took her for an ultrasound today and confirmed her pregnancy! This will be our first litter of Australian Labradoodles and will be a range of cream, apricot and reds! We are so excited!

Linnie got her hair cut this week also. Her Guardian mom thought she needed some relief from all that extra hair while she is pregnant and since it has been so warm. We agree! Even though it is pretty short, she still looks as cute as ever. Everyone at the vets just loves her. They think she is the cutest thing and can't believe how well behaved she is.Even when laying on the table for her ultrasound, she was just calm and relaxed, "a very good patient" the vet said.

We will be sad to see Linnie go on Sunday, but we will be getting her back in just about a month!

Below are some pictures of her new haircut and her and Willa hanging out, waiting for Lucy to come home!

We're Almost There!

Posted by bloggingPro | | Posted On at 1:50 PM

Below are some pictures of Willa and Lucy. They are certainly progressing in their pregnancies! We are on puppy watch now for Lucy. She can have puppies any day now or it could be a week. So we are all on our toes now, watching for any signs that may let us know that puppies will be here soon. Willa is due about a week after Lucy, so she is close to her due date too!

I think in my last post I mentioned how Willa and Lucy like to lay down in front of their bowl and eat. Well I managed to get a picture of Willa in action since they can't even come outside with us for a few minutes without bringing the food bowl as well! It is just too funny.

Lucy is off getting a "spa day" in preparation for her puppies. She will get a nice bath, and trim and will come home looking even more beautiful then before! We'll get some pictures of her when she comes home.
